Unemployed on STEM OPT. What happens to the H1B Process if I travel with an RFE?

I am currently on STEM OPT EAD and am Currently Unemployed. I filed for an H1B visa(end of June), which is currently being processed.

However, I have an RFE (Request for Evidence) related to “Maintenance of Status – F-1 OPT Unemployment.

To address this RFE, I plan to submit the latest pay stubs for the employer as proof of continued employment. Additionally, I am providing documentation to explain that I was unemployed from June 15th to August 31st.

PROBLEM:

I have emergency travel plans to India. Given my current situation with the H1B processing and the pending RFE response, I would like to seek your advice on whether it is advisable to travel to India. I am particularly concerned about potential issues when reentering the United States.
If anyone has been in a similar situation or has insights on this matter, your input would be greatly appreciated.
